2D works (11) – charcoal sketch
this is, as you can see, a drawing of a bear in the background and a bag in the foreground. this is a A3 sized drawing done again, in charcoal. i like the rendering of the bag, as it gives some semblance as to the material of the bag, which is leather (i think it does) which is, i think, due to the fact that there are clear definition of the creases of the bag which will not be that well defined if the bag was canvas/ cloth.
the bear was done in a hurry and hence it wasnt well done. if i had to re do this drawing, i will take more care in the bear although it is in the background of the drawing.
2D works (10) – charcoal sketch
i took quite long to finish this work – around 2 hours, this is a A3 sized drawing, rendered in charcoal. i think this drawing is quite well rendered, and there is quite some form of modelling done. with the fact that the green/red chilli covers almost the whole of the paper, it is quite demanding as it requires me to really study the green/red chilli to shade my work.
however, due to my lack of experience in the usage of charcoal as a medium, it was hard to control as can be seen in some parts of the drawing where particularly dark and strong lines are drawn, making it hard for later edition or erasing away to symbolise the lighting.
2D works (9) – charcoal sketch |shoes|
a 15 minutes sketch of the shoe rack done in charcoal on a A3 sized paper. one can see the hasty sketching process, but i guess the shape of the shoes are out.
the end effect was quite abstract and not bad, hence i was quite happy with this piece of drawing although it was just a rough sketch.
