2D works (1) – memories of bordeaux’07

January 13, 2008 at 3:54 pm (2D works)

the three weeks spent last year in bordeaux, france was the best three weeks of 2007. here are some photos that i took there.

chateau

this is the chateau in bordeaux, archachon. the photo is taken from the interior of the castle up. the walls of the castle frame the blue sky (: i took this picture because such scenes arent easily caught in singapore. the best i ever saw was the stretch of road linking the moelc and bishan mrt. but that was destroyed by the high rise buildings.

i like the wintery feel that this picture just simply exudes. it’s so simple yet so powerful (:

little medieval town

this is a little medieval town in bordeaux (: i like the strong contrast between the lighting. it keeps the buildings in a shadow and brings our the magnificent clouds (: haha but the buildings are vital to the whole composition!

Another picture of the same quaint medieval town. i was trying to capture the whole of the pictoresque scene in this photo, hence the houses are kind of squeezed together. it’s so town-y! and look at the tallest architectural structure at the left hand side of the photo! culture is just everywhere (:

yay.first to post a comment on your eportfolio. =D
The photo of the castle is really nice… the angle is interesting. I went there too with you and when you are trapped between four wals, it really feels like a frog in a well.(warning: direct translation in chinese)
and i like the trees too. they’re leafless!
